Artist Bio – Stanley Onumaegbu Hailing from Abia State and currently based in Abuja, Stanley is a Nigerian visual artist whose work delicately explores the intersection of language, identity, and cultural preservation. With a background in Chemical Engineering from Owerri (B.Eng, 2020), Stanley brings a unique analytical depth to a practice rooted in emotional and ancestral inquiry. Their art investigates the quiet erosion of indigenous African languages—not just as fading words, but as the disappearance of entire worldviews, traditions, and memories. Through a rich interplay of oil, acrylic, charcoal, and pen, Stanley constructs layered visual narratives that honor and reawaken the cultural memory embedded in African symbols, scripts, and oral traditions. Each piece becomes a bridge between the past and present, a reclamation of what still yearns to be heard. Their work is both a preservation and a reimagining a celebration of Africa’s linguistic heritage through powerful color, texture, and form.
